Contrary to popular belief, visualizing the worst isn’t pessimistic. It’s a Stoic exercise in resilience. Imagine losing what you value — be it a job, relationship, or material possession. This practice, known as ‘premeditatio malorum’, helps appreciate what you have and prepares you for future challenges. It’s about expecting the unexpected and being emotionally equipped to handle life’s uncertainties.
